To coincide with the publication of its White Paper, “Preparing for the Internet of Things Revolution: challenges and recommendations,” on 7 November, Arcep will be hosting a morning of debate and discussion on the following theme: “The Internet of Things: inventing pro-innovation regulation”.
The Internet of Things is one of the 12 priorities that Arcep identified for 2016/2017, and one immediate goal is to ensure the availability of scarce resources (numbering, IP address, network codes, access to frequencies, etc.) to support the development of IoT networks.
Since the start of the year, Arcep and several other public sector stakeholders (Cnil, ANSSI, ANFR, France Stratégie, DGALN) have been engaged in a dialogue with some 60 IoT ecosystem players. Thanks to this interaction and with the help of its partners, Arcep produced the draft version of a White Paper, which was published for consultation this summer, and whose final version will be made public at the symposium being held on 7 November.
