ARCEP has adopted a decision which would open an initial range of numbers beginning with "07" for mobile services.

This decision follows the public consultation launched by ARCEP in November 2008 on future needs for mobile numbers and on the need to open the 07 range to mobile services. It takes into consideration the consultations held with the Commission Consultative des radiocommunications, on 3 March 2009, and with the Commission Consultative des Réseaux et Services de Communications électroniques, on 27 April 2009.

Operators may now be assigned numbers beginning with 07, in blocks beginning with 075, 076, 077, 078, and 079.

Based on the schedule provided by operators, the first numbers of this type should be assigned to subscribers in the first half of 2010.
